Beauty/Make-up post

Over the last couple of weekends or so I've been out and about in Boots and Superdrug and on my (rather limited budget) just bought a couple of Make-up/ Beauty items that I wanted to share.
First off I bought the MUA eye shadow pallete 'Heaven and Earth'
I absolutely love these shades, they look so natural and lovely. These shades are also perfect for filling in your eyebrows as well and for £3.99 this is a bargain!

I also bought the MaxFactor Miracle Touch cream blush in the shade 'Soft Pink' This is so nice and blends really well so it's quite a soft colour when applied to the cheeks. It's also quite long-lasting which is a definite plus.

My most expensive item was the Chanel Perfection lumiere foundation in the shade 'Beige'. When I went along to buy this the assistant helped me match my skin tone with the right shade so it saved me a lot of time trying to work out which shade was right for me.This product is really nice and it's hard to tell that you're even wearing foundation which is great because so often you see the foundation marks on your face but this is perfect!

My next product is a '3 way liquid highlighter'. On the bottle this says that you can use it as a 'primer' but I think it's much too highly pigmented for this and so I only use it as a highlighter around my eyes and on my cheekbone. The only negative is that when you press the pump too much comes out which often leads to me then either applying too much or wasting some which is a shame, but great value as I think it was only £6 or £7.

My last buy was something that I desperately needed, eye shadow primer. This was actually the first primer that I've ever seen for your eyes so I bought it straight away and it's absolutely AMAZING. It primes the eye well for the eye shadow, you simply apply wait a couple of minutes, apply the eye shadow and then voiilla the eye shadow stay on perfectly for ages and I couldn't ask for any more from this product and would definitely recommend this everyone!

These are now quickly becoming staples in my make-up routine, well-worth the money!

What to do?

So, I have come to that horrible time, where I have to decide what I want to do at University and in which direction I want my life to go. Now I am absolutely terrible at making decisions I can agonise over a something for weeks and still not know what I'm going to do so for me, this is one of the most stressful things ever!! It certainly doesn't help that virtually all of my friends know exactly what they want to do at university and in life in general and that makes me feel 10x worse that I still have no direction in my life. University also means personal statements, which means selling yourself to someone, something that stereotypically us Brit's are terrible at and I am definitely no exception. The idea of rambling on for 4000 characters about how brilliant I am makes me shudder but it's just one of those things that has to be done.

Anyway, for anyone that may be in the same position as me, whose finding it hard choosing GCSE options A-levels or degrees like me these are some tips that I've learnt along the way:

  • Don't overstress - I am absolutely terrible at this. When I realise that a deadline is coming I panic and that just makes everything worse. So start looking into your choices as early as possible and you'll be much more relaxed.
  • Write a list - Now I'm not normally a list person but it does really help. For, instance if you're stuck between 2 or 3 subjects write a list of all the advantages/things you'll gain from taking that subject as well as any disadvantages and then compare these lists.
  • Don't put too much pressure on the decision - This is another thing that I am really bad at, I just load up so much pressure on the decision that I become a bit scared to make it and that makes everything a lot worse. So don't think too much about the consequences because this one decision won't ruin your life if you get it wrong!
  • Listen to advice - Bit of an obvious one; if you're stuck ask for advice. But just because you've asked for it doesn't mean you have to take it. You ask for advice to build up a picture and then you follow the route that you think best.
I hope that this helps anyone whose stuck just a little and good luck!
